In 2011, Anton Marklund participated in five rounds of the European Rallycross Championship for Marklund Motorsport, driving a Ford Fiesta Touring car and clinching a third-place finish in Sweden. Throughout the 2011 European rallycross championship, he secured two victories and six second-place finishes, ultimately claiming the TouringCar title.
Transitioning to the Supercar category in the 2013 European Rallycross Championship, Marklund piloted a Volkswagen Polo, finishing seventh overall. In the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship, also with Marklund Motorsport, he competed in a Volkswagen Polo Supercar, reaching five finals and achieving a career-best second place in Canada. He concluded the season sixth in points, scoring in every race.
In 2015, Marklund raced in the FIA World Rallycross Championship with Mattias Ekström's team, EKS RX, driving an Audi S1 in all events except Canada, where he drove a Volkswagen Polo. Ending the season strongly, he secured a sixth-place finish in Turkey and a fourth-place finish in Italy. Additionally, Marklund competed in the Audi Sport TT Cup in 2015, finishing 16th overall with 63 points and a best result of eighth place.
For the FIA World Rallycross Championship 2016, Kristoffersson Motorsport and Marklund Motorsport merged their operations to compete under the Volkswagen RX Sweden banner. With his Volkswagen Polo Supercar, Marklund finished 13th in points, achieving a best result of fourth place in the races in Belgium and Sweden.
In 2017, Marklund departed from the World Rallycross Championship and returned to the European Rallycross Championship with Marklund Motorsport. There, he clinched the title with three wins in five races. The following year, he returned to the same competition and secured the silver medal. In 2022, Marklund once again emerged victorious in the European Rallycross Championship.
Additionally, Marklund's triumph in the 2023 European Championship further cements his reputation as a top competitor in the motorsport arena. Joining CUPRA Sweden-PWR marks an exciting new chapter in his career, and he is eager to make a significant impact in the upcoming STCC season.
In 2024, Marklund inked a deal with CUPRA Sweden-PWR and joined the team to compete in the STCC 2024 season.
