The Ljungbyheds Motor Track played host to a thrilling weekend of racing as the STCC series descended upon the circuit for Race 2 - the Airport Race. In a display of skill, strategy, and sheer determination, the CUPRA Sweden-PWR team performed both on Friday and Saturday, but of course, it could have gone better.

“Bitter Sweet” or Sweet and Bitter for CUPRA Sweden-PWR in the Second STCC Race in Ljungbyhed

June 30, 2024

On Friday, the team had Robert Dahlgren in the top along with other drivers, and on Saturday, in the first race, a big, enthusiastic crowd cheered on as Robert Dahlgren secured 2nd place, Axel Bengtsson came in 4th, and Anton Marklund finished in 8th place. The energy from the fans electrified our drivers, making this an unforgettable event.

However, it was all bittersweet until it became a little bit more bitter than sweet when the drivers in the second race were hit by misfortune. Robert Dahlgren had to drive off the track due to tire issues, while Axel Bengtsson collided with one of the other team's Teslas. Anton Marklund fought bravely, but this time it just wasn’t enough to solidify their position at the top of the championship standings.

"This weekend could have gone better for us, but racing is full of ups and downs. Our drivers showed great skill and determination despite the setbacks. We aim to reload, learn from this experience, and come back stronger in the next race” - Team principal, Marcus Ekström, CUPRA Sweden-PWR

In racing, as in life, the journey often begins with bittersweet moments, where triumph and setback dance hand in hand. Yet, when the tide shifts from sweet to bitter, it's a reminder that every setback is an opportunity to learn, grow, and emerge stronger. Embracing both the highs and the lows with grace is what ultimately paves the way to victory. As the team reflects on the challenges faced and the lessons learned, they are more motivated than ever to push forward. The support from the fans has been incredible, and with their continued encouragement, CUPRA Sweden-PWR is determined to make a strong comeback in the upcoming races. Stay tuned as we strive for excellence and aim to reach the top of the championship standings once again.
