As we stand before a new era in racing, it is essential to reflect on the challenges that have long characterized the world of motorsport. Despite its rich history and global appeal, the sport has often struggled with outdated regulations, high costs, and a lack of commercial viability. These issues have not only made it difficult for emerging talents to break through but have also hindered the sport’s evolution. In this context, PWR Group and its subsidiary EPWR’s revolutionary approach stands out from an innovation and sustainability perspective.

EPWR's Historic Leap in Electric Touring Car Racing

September 4, 2024

Historically, motorsport and racing has faced numerous challenges. From expensive regulations to complicated technical rules, the sport has needed reform. In response to these challenges, EPWR, a subsidiary of PWR Group, has pioneered an innovative solution. We have developed a new set of regulations that have been adopted by STCC (Scandinavian Touring Car Championship) — thus putting the world's first 100% electric national touring car series on the map.

The world's first 100% electric national touring car series is on the map

The EPWR Concept marks a historic shift in touring car racing, as it pioneers the full electrification of an entire championship for the first time. This groundbreaking move not only revolutionizes the technical landscape of the sport but also redefines its core philosophy. By transitioning to a 100% electric touring car series, we are setting a new precedent for racing worldwide. EPWR joins a rare group of global innovators who have successfully achieved this level of transformation, leading the way in creating a more sustainable and forward-thinking motorsport future.

By electrifying the championship, EPWR addresses several critical issues at once. First, it significantly reduces the environmental impact of the sport, aligning with global trends towards sustainability. Second, it lowers several barriers for participation on all levels, opening up new opportunities.

This transition to an all-electric format is not just a technical upgrade but a strategic realignment that aims to future-proof the sport. The EPWR Concept provides a framework for a more inclusive and dynamic racing environment, where performance is determined by skill and strategy. It also sets a new standard for how motorsport can evolve in response to global challenges and technological advancements.

As we approach the third race weekend of this historic STCC-series at Ring Knutstorp, the excitement is high! The track’s demanding layout will test the mettle of all competitors, showcasing the effectiveness of the EPWR concept and the thrilling potential of electric racing.
